Frequently Asked Questions

Accuplan offers two main types of retirement accounts: individual and business accounts:

  • Our individual account options include self-directed traditional IRAs and self-directed Roth IRAs.
  • Our choices for small businesses and self-employed individuals include solo 401(k)s, simplified employee pension (SEP) IRAs, savings incentive match plans for employees (SIMPLE) IRAs, and employee stock ownership plans (ESOPs).
  • In addition, we have a health savings account (HSA) option.

You may fund your account through direct contributions; rolling over funds from an established 401(k), IRA, or other established tax-qualified account; or transferring your assets/funds from a previous provider to a new one of the same retirement account type.

Standard account costs include a setup fee and annual account fees. Depending on the type of account and what investments you choose to make, you may also incur:

  • Transaction fees
  • Asset-based fees
  • LLC state fees
  • Asset purchasing and holding fees

At Accuplan Benefits Services, we offer flat fees at competitive rates.

Self-directed IRAs enable you to invest in a large variety of assets beyond traditional stocks and bonds. Some of the most popular alternative assets you can invest in include:

  • Real estate
  • Precious metals
  • Private loans
  • Cryptocurrency

There are only a few restrictions on allowed investments from the IRS, like collectibles, S-corporation stock, and life insurance.
